ITEM: Abstract by Cheeta This is a painting by Cheeta, the 79-year-old chimpanzee star of "Tarzan of the Apes." He has retired to a primate sanctuary Palm Springs, California, where he holds the record as the world's oldest living primate (the usual life span for a chimp is 60 years; 40 in the wild). He spends his dotage paining these exquisite abstractions, which are sold to support the sanctuary. |
