ITEM: Sexy Romanian Folk Toy

When I was in Romania in 1971 starting fieldwork for my book on Romanian peasant house decoration, a village woodcarver brought out this little action figure suggesting that I buy it as a toy for my young children. I bought it, but not for the kids! The naked male and female figures are anatomically correct but forever parallel, never together. When you squeeze the long sticks at the bottom the string winds and unwinds, sending these two into flips. I like the belt and necklace, but especially the derby hat.
